The 9565CV is powered by a 12 AMP motor with soft start for smoother start-ups. The five-stage variable speed dial (2,800 - 10,500 RPM) allows the user to match the RPM to the application. The electronic limiter stops the motor and reduces accidental motor overload and burnout, and the electronic speed control maintains consistent speed under load. Labyrinth construction protects the motor with a complex set of channels, prohibiting dust and contamination. In addition, the protective zig-zag varnish seals the motor and bearings from dust and debris by creating a barrier under rotation. Don't buy any other. Used my last one for 5 years and probably cut out a thousand granite sinks and it's still going. Just change the brushes every so often---very easy and blow it out with some compressed air to clean it. Powerful as hell but you'll get used to it. Cannot stress enough that you're throwing away you're money if you buy anything else.

After a lot of research into angle grinders I chose this Makita, and am very satisfied. The grinder has a nice weight to it, the switches and speed setting have a sturdy feel to it, and the tool has plenty of power. Having the variable speed was crucial to a job I was doing that needed lower speeds. At high speed this thing should be able to cut through anything. It's also nice that it is a 5" which is more power and speed that a 4.5".

i had some granite installed and this is a version of the grinder they used. i got one for myself i love the adjustable speed feature. the bosch i've been using spins at 12000 rpm with can be abit jumpy. for polishing this this is the shiznit.
