Product Description Cordless pole saw featuring an 8" cutting bar and chain with a cutting diameter of 4". In line power head allows easy access and visibility between branches. Insertable extension provides an overhead reach of 14' and is easily removed for easy storage. 18
Amazon.com Review Prune dead branches 14 feet above head level with Black and Decker's Cordless 18-volt Pole Pruning Saw and never set up a ladder again. An eight-inch cutting bar and chain cuts branches six inches in diameter with out overexertion. A center extension slides out to reach the high branches and slides back in for lower cuts. For less downtime and more productivity, the 18-volt Nicad battery has enough runtime and power to cut one hundred 1-1/2-inch branches on a single charge. A 3-section design folds down for compact storage in the included storage bag. An extremely user-friendly tool, this saw's motor is positioned in-line with the pole so that it fits between branches easily and doesn't obstruct visibility. And, weighing only 7.6 pounds, this pruning saw is easy to handle as well. Not only does it reach high branches easily, it actually cuts them, too. The saw comes with battery, charger, storage bag, blade guard, oil bottle, and wrench. Black and Decker covers the pruning saw with a 30-day, no-risk, satisfaction guarantee as well as a full two-year warranty. --Brian Olson

beyond a chainsaw September 4, 2010 R. Stahl I own the regular pole-less B&D cordless chainsaw. I needed something to address some tree branches that were touching the house, however, so I got this pole saw. Now I almost prefer it to the chainsaw as it is so much more versatile. You have to oil it by hand, but it's very easy to use. Just set it on top with the bottom bumper on the branch and press the button. It just falls through the branch. I'm trying to cut back a bunch of invasive Chinese privet bushes, and this thing rocks. It allows you to cut from a nice distance. You don't have to chop your way in or climb into the bush to get at the good stuff. It's pretty rugged and lightweight. Fun to use, even.
Does the job - worth the price August 30, 2010 Tammy Matthews (Kansas City, MO United States) I bought this saw to trim a tree in the front yard of my rental house. The renters were complaining that the branches were hanging too low and scraping the top of their SUV. This saw was easy to put together and easy enough to use. Don't expect a professional looking job though. It was hard to get a clean cut on every branch, especially the smaller ones. Ideal for cutting branches a inch to two inches thick, which is really all I needed it for. Overall, great tool, that did a great job.
Use this to stay off ladders. August 23, 2010 R. A. Stine (San Mateo, CA) We have a very large Oak tree growing next to the house and I needed to trim high branches that were too close to the house, creating a fire hazard. This tool worked perfectly, allowing me to safetly cut the branches from the deck instead of trying to work from a ladder with a chain saw.
I highly recommend purchasing an extra battery; working on large branches dishcarges the battery pretty quickly. Using two batteries, I was able to do everything I wanted to in about 1 1/2 hours.
pole chainsaw August 21, 2010 j;f The B & D pole chainsaw cordless work great. However, I wish that it could be used a a regular chainsaw without the six-foot pole attached
B&D Electric Pole Chain Saw August 19, 2010 Angel (Rockford, IL United States) I LOVE this saw. It has done everything I have asked of it including taking down a tree with a six inch trunk.
