Product Description Cordless pole saw featuring an 8" cutting bar and chain with a cutting diameter of 4". In line power head allows easy access and visibility between branches. Insertable extension provides an overhead reach of 14' and is easily removed for easy storage. 18
Amazon.com Review Prune dead branches 14 feet above head level with Black and Decker's Cordless 18-volt Pole Pruning Saw and never set up a ladder again. An eight-inch cutting bar and chain cuts branches six inches in diameter with out overexertion. A center extension slides out to reach the high branches and slides back in for lower cuts. For less downtime and more productivity, the 18-volt Nicad battery has enough runtime and power to cut one hundred 1-1/2-inch branches on a single charge. A 3-section design folds down for compact storage in the included storage bag. An extremely user-friendly tool, this saw's motor is positioned in-line with the pole so that it fits between branches easily and doesn't obstruct visibility. And, weighing only 7.6 pounds, this pruning saw is easy to handle as well. Not only does it reach high branches easily, it actually cuts them, too. The saw comes with battery, charger, storage bag, blade guard, oil bottle, and wrench. Black and Decker covers the pruning saw with a 30-day, no-risk, satisfaction guarantee as well as a full two-year warranty. --Brian Olson

Excellent tree trimming tool March 14, 2010 Robert A. Hinton (Houston, Texas USA) I want to add my positive review for this pole saw. I have used the saw to trim several trees on my residence in Houston, and also on my vacation retreat near Lake Livingston. This pole saw exceeds my expectations in nearly all categories. The saw performs excellent for removing limbs in the range of 1 inch to 3 or 4 inches. I have tightened the chain only once (it was needed). My recommendations to the manufacturer are only the obvious: 1) lighter weight 2) a little less flexibility through the extension section 3) variable speed in response to trigger pressure 4) increased power storage in the battery. Recommendations to the user: A) Remember to lubricate the chain B) Do not use the center extension section if not necessary to reach higher limbs C) For more than casual use, to remove a few limbs at a time, purchase an extra battery. My congratulations to Black and Decker - this is one of my favorite all-time tool purchases! Keep up your good works.
Will Not Cut 1 inch Branches March 13, 2010 Knot Me (South Carolina) I returned the Pole Chain Saw after only 5 minutes of operation. It labored trying to cut through a 1 inch branch. It took so long that I gave up, and picked up my dull old bow saw, which cut quickly and easily. Do not buy this item.
black&decker 18 volt cordless electris pole chain saw March 11, 2010 Kal V. Oravet (rainbow city al usa) excellent product. have all the other black & decker cordless trimmers and sawa. would highly recommend this product
Great product Great Price March 6, 2010 Michael J. Ventola (Lithia FL) I did a bit of shopping around before I decided to chose this B&D battery powered chain saw. I was undecided between a gas powered one and electric. Having a good deal of experience with gas powered devices as well as electric devices this model suited my needs better and came at a great value for the dollar. I intend to use it for general tree triming around my 1 acre home in Florida. Here are a few pro's and con's of the unit.
Pros - Has one of the longest extensions available at 14ft. This is 2ft better then the gas powered ones I was considering. Being 6ft + myself, I don't think I will be needing a ladder much. This is a great feature. Charging was pretty quick and efficient. Excellent run time on the battery, able to use it for my entire yard and it did not die even after almost 2 hrs. (Not continuous) Easy to assemble, adjust and use. Not very heavy and easy to menuver. Cuts great and does just what many of the other reviews indicated about going thru 5-6in limbs.
Cons - Box came a little beat up but nothing was broken. Watch when you insert the battery, if you do not push it all the way in and hear the click, the battery will fall out once you tilt the unity up to use it. No other real cons at this time.
If you are a general gardener or handyman this is a great item and I recommend it. You can save hundreds of dollars doing this work yourself and not having to hire a professional with similar tools. Just a few years of clearing dead or overgrown limbs you will have gotten way more then your moneys worth. Great product B&D.

why it does not work any more? February 22, 2010 S. Zhang (TX USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Many buyers rated 4-5 stars and they are very lucky.
I hate that I rate it 1 star. I would like to change my rate if this chain is working again.
I bought it about 1 year on amazon.com.
It was working for several cuts. But it suddently became not working. I thought the chain had problem so I bought two new chain. It still not working. I started to think about the battery. I bought another two batteries. It is still not working: the chain is moving but it can not cut anything. The snow last week crashed several tree's sticks. I tried to use it to cut them. But it does not working.
I checked the review and nobody mentioned the same problem.
Anyone can help resolve this problem?
If the problem is resolved, I would change my rate.
Thank you very much.
(When you comment my revew, your comment would send to my email. Thanks in advance)
