Amazon.com Review
Since Milwaukee came up with the recip saw in the first place, we have very high expectations for every model they put out – and this one does Milwaukee proud.

At the heart of this saw is a rip-roaring 13 amp motor that does not hesitate no matter what you’re cutting, whether it’s studs or large diameter pipe. Despite the awesome power, it handles beautifully, with so little vibration it’s remarkable, and the weight of the tool is balanced perfectly for minimal user fatigue. And in the interest of ergonomics, probably the best innovation on this saw is the handle. It rotates a full 360-degrees and locks in at 45-degree intervals, so you can adjust the angle to whatever odd situation you might find yourself in, and it saves tremendous strain on your body.

The speed control dial lets you set a range, and the trigger pressure gives you variable speeds within that range for absolute control. At full speed, you’ve got 3,000-strokes per minute with a 1-1/4-inch stroke length, and you can choose between orbital action, which gives you fast, aggressive cuts, or straight blade movement, which delivers a surprisingly fine cut.

We like Milwaukee’s Quik-Lok™ blade clamp for fast, easy blade changes. And we love the flexibility of installing the blades with the teeth facing up or down, making your job even easier. Just twist the collar and insert the blade all the way in; release the collar and a spring-loaded mechanism locks the blade in place.

And talk about flexibility: Even the shoe adjusts, and without a tool. You can move it effortlessly both forward and backward into six positions, letting you use untouched parts of the blade for longer blade life, and it’s great, too, in awkward positions.

5 out of 5 stars Milwaukee 6523   July 18, 2010

Great product. I have used it twice already and can say that this saw is a must have for any home project, whether inside or outside the home. A very versital tool.

5 out of 5 stars smooth and powerful tool   June 13, 2010

I use a sawzall almost as much as a circular saw in my remodeling work. It is bigger and heavier than an older Milwaukee sawzall I have, but cuts much smoother and with more power. It's a solid hard working tool.

4 out of 5 stars Is it worth it?   April 15, 2010

I've used nothing but Milwaukee Sawzalls in my career and I must say this one is solid. There's very little recoil or vibration here during use. You'll know you're holding a serious piece of hardware when you pick this one up. Only this model now offers the removable power cord option according to their website. It locks in nicely and I wouldn't purchase any model without this feature as integrated cords on these things can potentially be the first thing to go. Simply purchasing a new cord is always a better alternative to having to send it in for repair and be without your equipment. This model also offers the greatest stroke length in reciprocation utilizing more real estate on precious blades for more effective cuts. My only complaint would be the blade guard lock located near the business end near the chuck. It's kinda flimsy but it works nonetheless. Last but not least, I'm by no means a weak man, but this thing is kinda heavy: Heavier than other Milwaukees I've used. I even suspect that the shear weight of this thing aids in the dampening of recoil and vibration. The 360 degree rotating handle is sort of a novelty feature that I suspect has given the saw more girth. The handle does however, lock into some pretty convenient positions. I suppose it's another alternative to removing the blade, and simply turning it over. Put to use long enough, applications for this feature are bound to slap you right in the face. Whether the added weight and girth for a novelty feature is worth it is debatable. This is professional grade and I do recommend this saw particularly to contractors. There's 13 amps in there. FEEL THE POWER!

P.S. I was surprised to learn that Milwaukee is now Chinese owned, yet the manufacturing process continues here in America. "MADE IN AMERICA"(technically)I suppose.

5 out of 5 stars Beast!!   March 25, 2010

So far I have cut everything from steel pipe, to 2x4's, to 5 inch diameter tree roots (still mostly buried) without a hiccup. This thing is a beast of a tool (in a good way), and cuts quickly. I didn't think that I would ever really use the rotating handle, being used to regular Sawzall's, but to my surprise I have used it a few times to reach safely into tight spaces and awkward positions and it is quite handy. The 13A motor is great, stroke length is great, and adjustable speed and type of cut are very convenient. Best of all it is a Milwaukee, so you know you have their (at least) 5 year no BS guarantee - though it is unlikely that you'll ever need it - my father has had his Sawzall for more than 20 years and mechanically it is like new. Overall I am very happy with this product and would recommend over any other 'Sawzall' (I have used/owned many).

5 out of 5 stars A Classic   March 25, 2010

Don't know how I worked so many years without a Sawzall.
Rotating handle and flexible blades make for perfect tool control.
Great for demo, remodels, and tree trimming!
Takes longer to setup than to do the job!
Highly recommended.
