I'm not happy with this saw! June 24, 2010 Frito (Pensacola, FL, US) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this saw based on all the positive comments I read here, but this saw does not cut squarely. I wish I could have given it a black star. A simple straight cut is not square and a circlular cut was WAY out of square. At first I thought it was me, but finally I turned it over put my machinist square next to the blade. One side of the blade showed perfectly square to the shoe of the saw but the other side was 1/16 of an inch out, i.e. the square touched the bottom of the blade but at the top of the blade was a 1/16 inch gap. I put a machinist straight edge on the metal shoe and it had gaps in all directions. The shoe is stamped steel, not machined. The plastic shoe cover is not a precision piece of work either. There is no fine adjustment for aligning the shoe to the blade. The design of the edge guide/circle cutter securing screws is terrible. If you tighten the screws too hard (VERY easy to do) it bends the unsupported small lip at the front of the metal shoe. Milwaukee said to return it to the dealer, but didn't seem much interested in why the saw was not right. Thankfully, Amazon is exchanging it for me. I hope the next one is right, otherwise, I'll get something else. Funny, I pulled out my 1972 Craftsman jig saw and it makes perfectly square cuts, both straight and circular (although it shakes like a hula dancer - that's why I wanted to upgrade to the new counter-balanced saws). I'm very disappointed in Milwaukee, but very pleased with Amazon customer service.
Cuts wood like butter June 23, 2010 S. Hickman (Kingwood, TX United States) I was considering buying the Bosch model, but I ended up buying this one instead. I already owned a Milwaukee circular saw and was extremely happy with it (I own a Bosch router and am happy with it as well). I saw the 5 star ratings on this saw and decided to buy it instead of the Bosch. I've got to admit, it deserves the 5 stars given by everyone else up to this point. The tooless blade change is great as is the case. Most importantly, the saw is smooth with no vibration. For a jig saw, it cuts very smooth.
Jig Saw June 1, 2010 C. Amico (Camarillo Ca.) This is a great saw. Lots of power and precsion. My old craftsman would wander all over, this saw cuts the way it should. I like that it blows the dust out of your way.
Glad I got this one April 30, 2010 reader (AL United States) I had a couple of old jig saws but wanted a heavier duty new one. I tried a couple of under $20 ones and found they would not hold a blade in place nor could they be moved around sharp curves. This 6268-21 Milwaukee saw makes jig saw work fun. It re-states that you get what you pay for.
Milwaukee 6268-21 Jig Saw March 15, 2010 Myron D. Compton (PEKIN, INDIANA, US) Was just as I expected, Top notch. Fine little saw. Milwaukee Tools has not let me down yet. Myron Compton
