Amazon.com Product Description
For finishing, detailed woodworking, and fastening of delicate, thin, and small wood pieces without splitting, the Grex P635 Headless Pinner makes the process of pinning easy. This innovative tool accommodates long pins up to 1-3/8 inches for a strong hold, and the magazine self-adjusts to different fastener sizes, so you'll never need to make any adjustments for pin lengths. Powerful enough to penetrate hardwoods, the P635 works securely with a built-in double-trigger safety.

1. A narrow nose allows for fine, detailed work.
2. A no-mar tip protects your work surface.
3. A safety trigger prevents accidental firing.
4. A self-adjusting magazine makes pin changes easy.

Award-Winning Power and Versatility
Ideal for detailed woodworking and finish work, the P635 gives you the flexibility and power you need to tackle a host of pinning jobs. Equipped with an industrial-strength motor, this pinner easily penetrates hardwoods such as oak and beech. And even with its high-power performance, the P635 allows for fastening of delicate, thin, and small wood pieces without splitting--something that's simply not possible with larger fasteners.

Suitable for both hard and soft woods, the P635 fits pins up to 1-3/8 inches long for strong holding power.View larger.
The magazine auto-adjusts to the different fastener sizes, quickly pushing pins to the necessary position. Unlike old-style pinners, the P635 does not require you to make any adjustments for the pin lengths; it's an easy load-and-go tool for quick, convenient, and trouble-free loading and reloading.

The pinner's broad fastener range accepts pins from 3/8 inch to 1-3/8 inches in length--nine different sizes--making it the perfect go-to gun. Plus, the P635's fastener capacity is one strip (approximately 100 pins), letting you work with little interruption.

For its innovative features, the P635 has been named one of the "Best New Tools" in the December 2005 issue of Popular Woodworking and the "Best Bet" of headless pinners in the April 2007 issue of Woodworker's Journal. The P635 has also been listed in Taunton's Tool Guide as the "Readers' Choice" two years in a row (2008 and 2009).

Lightweight Body with Narrow Nose for Easy Maneuvering
Weighing only 2.21 pounds, the P635 keeps you working comfortably when you're performing extended or overhead pinning jobs. And with its narrow nose and short length (less than eight inches), this pinner is perfect for accessing tight spaces, and the rear cut-away magazine helps the tool reach into corners.

If you frequently perform detailed trim work, this pinner's compact design gives you the control and flexibility you need to create an attractive finished product. And for jam clearing, the P635's removable nose cover provides easy access. The hex key to remove the nose cover is conveneiently stored on the rear of the magazine.

No-Mar Tip and Safety Trigger Provide Clean, Safe Performance
If you want to avoid visible holes or splits in a finished piece, the P635 is a great choice. The pinner is similar to a finish or brad nailer, but it uses smaller nails, so it fires fasteners that hardly leave a trace. Despite being a very thin headless fastener, the tool uses 23-gauge headless pins that provide a significant amount of holding power when driven in correctly. And because the pins leave holes that are practically invisible, there is no need for puttying and sanding. This means you'll achieve better-looking results while saving time.

The P635 also makes it possible to fasten pre-finished material. The removable no-mar tip works with smooth precision, so do-it-yourselfers and professionals alike can enjoy clean, expert results.

For added security and control, the pinner is built with a double-trigger safety, which prevents accidental firing. To fire a pin, you simply pull back the safety trigger and then engage the pinning trigger. For added convenience, the pinner includes quick access magazine storage for the wrench, magazine angled cut-off, and a fastener indicator that lets you know when reloading is necessary.

And to ensure a more relaxed work environment, the P635 has a rear-exhaust system with a built-in silencer, which directs the tool's exhaust away from the user and reduces the noise to a comfortable minimum. Constructed mostly of metal--with a hardened steel driver and nose piece, aluminum internal parts, aluminum housing, and aluminum extruded magazine assembly--this tool is built to last. And with a convenient belt hook, the pinner is easy to carry with you wherever you go.

Great for a Variety of Uses: From Frame Assembly to Joint Pinning
The P635's many capabilities give you the freedom to use it in a variety of situations, covering your pinning needs everywhere from craft shops to construction sites. Grex recommends the pinner for the following applications: finishing, molding, decorative trimming, lightweight paneling, dowel and joint pinning, window beading, display and sign creation, and assembly of mirrors, picture frames, rattan furniture, and more.

What's in the Box

5 out of 5 stars Expensive but worth the price   August 16, 2010
G. P. Hawkins (Santa Clara, CA)
I was not certain about spending so much for an air tool, being a homeowner and not a pro. I am convinced now! The Grex 23 ga headless pinner is an outstanding tool and is extremely useful. The feed is excellent; only one jam in thousands of pins. The Grex pins are excellent. The Grex pinner is much, much quieter than my other pinners. The nails are driven in perfectly every time; I don't have to keep going for the hammer and nailset as with my economy 18 ga pinner. The 1-3/8 length is good for most projects, but a little short for full-sized crown molding over wallboard. This is a neat tool, too expensive, but really worth the investment.

5 out of 5 stars Go with the best.   June 30, 2010

I have owned three other Senco pinners before this one and this is far superior. We use them every day for installing millwork. FYI- the Cadex & Fasco guns are essential the same as this- so buy whatever is cheaper- there all great pinners.

5 out of 5 stars Is used more than I thought   June 17, 2010
Danny A. Hellyar (Santee, Ca.)
If your doing any kind of finish or trim work, this is a must have tool. It's unbelievable just how strong these little pins are. It's the perfect tool for putting on trim or fastening the corners of your miter joints on molding. I've used this gun for about three years now and I just absolutely love it. It's been a real time saver not having to fill the nail holes since they are so small that you almost can't see them. I just can't believe that I ever thought that I wouldn't have much need for one since my 18 gauge seemed good enough. I was wrong! I think I probably use this more than the 18 gauge now. I bought this one because it shoots longer nails than the Porter Cable model and I'm glad I did.

5 out of 5 stars Best pinner that I've own to date!   June 1, 2010

Well, this is the best pinner that I've owned to date - purchased last year and have used on a number of projects; but this Memorial Day weekend I made a speaker cabinet for my brother; used the Grex pinner for a number of purposes which included employing 3 different length pins (3/4" to 1 3/8") - all pins were sunk below the surface and left no marring - I was quite impressed.

This is my 3rd pinner - have owned the AccuSet and the Porter-Cable - neither fulfilled my desires as described w/ the Grex pinner - I'm quite pleased w/ this air tool; will it 'hold up' over time? Probably so - I'm just an amateur woodworker, so will likely just once a month or less often - this pinner will likely please me for years!

5 out of 5 stars Great product by Grex   February 3, 2010
doogiedesign (Pittsburgh, PA)
After much research I decided on the Grex P635 for my pin nailer. I have used it extensively over the past month for a remodeling project. It pushes a 1 3/8" pin though 3/4" oak with no effort. Very solid construction, easy to load, easy to clear (only once) and counter sinks the exact amount in every material I have nailed.
