Excellent Router for an Excellent Price February 20, 2010 T. Ganz (USA) I've owned this router for over three months, and am thoroughly impressed. This is my first router, and was torn between this model and a more powerful model such as the Bosch, Hitachi, or Dewalt. I have used this router with fixed and plunge bases, as well as with a router table. I've found the power to be very adequate, as it easily powers through both hard and soft species, providing you have good, sharp carbide bits. While it is annoying that you have to use two wrenches, it's minor. Additionally, the fixed base has a hole in the base with which you can adjust the height when it is inserted in a router table, which is a very handy feature, and something I didn't expect to find on a router in this price range. Overall, it's definitely a five star router. As for the case, it is a little big, but it protects the routers, and holds all the necessary accessories.
To much wrapping January 31, 2010 Jack Ofall (GREEN VALLEY, AZ, US) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The router is extremly well suited for most home workshops. Nearly all task large and small are handled by this unit easily. If any additional accessories are needed, they are available.
There is only one thing negative about the router set is the storage box it comes in. It is simply to large. It ended up in the recycle bin.
Excellent Fit and Finish January 26, 2010 David Daberkoe 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
First: Stellar shipping from Amazon. Came before Xmas holiday in like two days--Thanks Amazon.
Power has been more than adequate for me; Pushes a half inch bit half buried with no bogging. Motor slips easily into plunge or fixed base, machining and fit are perfect! Vac attachment is excellent. Grips are comfortable collett holds tight, but is a bit clumsy with the two wrench method. Depth controls are accurate and intuitive. Very pleased.
My first router. January 20, 2010 Ligster22 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is my first router and I am very happy with my decision to by it. Bit changes are simple with nice forged wrench's that it comes with. The case is pretty big but that is so you have space for you to put your extra gear such as edge guide, router bits, t-handle wrench that will allow you to adjust depth when mounted to a table etc. I haven't used the plunge base yet but from the just kind of messing around with it on the work bench it seems really durable and easy to use. The manual has some pretty good detail about how to use it. I am very happy with my decision to go with the Milwaukee. I used to be a DeWalt guy myself, but as of recent I have been going for what ever I can afford at the time I need something. Now I just might have to change my other stuff to Milwaukee.
EXCELLENT ROUTER January 15, 2010 Deborah Whitaker (Klamath Falls, OR) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This router is so smooth to operate that I can not believe it. I've always had Craftsman in the past and they have been hard to deal with. The depth gauge just went out on my nearly new router and that's when I was definently leaning on getting a different brand. I was leaning on a Porter Cable but the reviews were much better on this router. Someone really had their head together when they came up with this one. The other routers I had were rough to operate and vibrated quite a bit. This one acts like it floats as it cuts. I have control of it instead of it having control of me. You can't go wrong with this one at all. It makes routing fun instead of being a hassle. The reviews speak for themself on this one.
