Better that the other brand I won. July 25, 2010 A. Troskoski (Rock Hill, SC) I have used the PC version for a few years, but keeping the sandpaper on the profiles porves fustrating/impossible. I bought one of these and its designed is far superior. Works great, but way over-priced as are all Fein Accessories.
multimaster combo kit July 18, 2010 toolman has electrican this is one of your tool that you have to have in remodeling for notching into wood studs in walls.
Show me a better profile sander... that doesn't cost $350! June 9, 2010 D. Conley (Alexandria, VA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Okay, first of all, this is(as are many of the Multimaster add-ons) a finishing tool. It is a finesse tool, not your daddy's pad sander! The negative comments that mention that the profile went flying off or the clamp melted(!) obviously indicate that the user was pushing too hard on the tool(!) and had the speed turned up too high.
I just used this to sand the rounded ends of the slats on a pair of shutters I refinished. After getting rid of 99% of the 50+ yrs of paint on these things with a torch and putty chisel, I used the thin sanding pad with 60/80/120 grit paper on the slats and finished the edges with the concave profile attachment. I set the MM to a slow speed and let the tool do the work and WALA, no problems whatsoever! I did gunk up about 2 sheets of sandpaper, but that was due to the 1% of old paint the scraper didn't get. On bare wood, the paper would last much longer.
This thing completely works as advertised. Oh and by the way, try finding another solution! For $350 you could get some exotic Festool unit. Or try the lame Porter Cable sander--I suffered with that for years before the MM came along--there's a reason its "no longer available". The ONLY thing going for the PC is the # of profiles they give you-I plan to re-purpose these to use with the Fein attachment.
Finally, there seems to be a common thread running through many of the MM reviews such as the ones for the profile kit: that its not rugged or sturdy enough. Again, its a finishing tool, not a big bruising belt sander or sawzall! If you use the tool for the purpose for which it was designed, you will be quite satisfied! Yes, the attachments are expensive but in the year 2010, there are many aftermarket alternatives out there, especially where blades are concerned.
Very disappointed April 19, 2010 R. valencia (California) It worked great for about five minutes. The pin that holds the orange clip to the metal frame fell apart, I mean it just melted and is now unusable

Thank you for the opportunity to submit my review on this product.
These blades are way over priced for the amount of work you get from them.
Blade #152 is a wood-metal blade and advertized as able to cut nails. The brochure and video show the blade cutting large nails. I tried this and after 3 nails the blade was no longer any good. No more teeth on the blade.
Blade # 127 lost all the teeth after just 3 plunge cuts into a wood 2x4. The blade is now worthless.
Blade #133 seems to work a little better. I have done a little bit of wood cutting with it and it seems to be holding up. I'm almost affraid to use it too much because I would not want to rush out and buy a new one right a way.
Way too expensive!!!!
