Awesome flooring saw! August 9, 2010 West (Seattle,WA USA) Bought this saw from Lowes (would have bought here if I found this here earlier). It is exactly what you would expect to have for DIY floor installation. Because of its light weight and compact design, you can put as close to your work place as possible. I'm using it now for my first flooring product. It's ready for use right out of the box. Instruction is clear and you get on your first cut in no time.
My only concern is that sometimes the edge of cut board is not so smooth. It could be better if the accompanied saw has more teeth.

I bought this saw to install 3/4 stranded bamboo T&G flooring. The saw itself showed signs of previous use. Minimal and I was installing the next day so i was impatient to use it. This saw would splinter the end cuts and damage the factory finish. I cut a few boards and ended up using my table saw and chopsaw. I tried ripping a scrap, it was underpowered for 3/4 bamboo. It might work well for 1/4 and 3/8 laminates and engineered but I can't see it for 3/4. I used it with Porter Cable tool triggered vacuum. It still had a lot of dust that escaped. I wanted this tool to perform. I bought this saw after reading reviews on amazon. Most of the reviews at the time were vine reviews. Whats not to like when its free. I gave it 2 stars because it didn't work for me but might be fine for smaller stock.I sent this one back.

I've operated a Skil circular saw for years, and I've been happy with it. That's why I decided to take a chance on this flooring saw. I can't say enough good things about it. It's light weight, easily portable, and stores easily. It cuts straight and true with nice, clean cuts. Adjusting the blade is pretty quick and easy. It moves smoothly across the table. It doesn't collect all of the saw dust, but what does? I will say that this saw saves a lot of time being able to have it with you in the room your flooring. No more running back and forth from the garage cutting pieces to fit. It's probably the most convenient, adaptable saw I own.
This saw is a beauty! July 5, 2010 Michael T Mellentine (LITTLETON, CO, US) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Let me start by saying, I am NOT a professional floor installer. After searching for a saw that would cut laminate flooring, I accidentally stumbled upon this. This worked as I had hoped, and flawlessly. It is easy to use, and has built in safety features for amateurs like me. We put down 325 sq ft of laminate flooring, with plans to do more rooms. It had no problem cutting through the oak cove moldoing either. We are still using the initial blade.
Amazon delivered as promised as well. Zero complaints!
Lightweight,Time saver. July 4, 2010 JC 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I am a flooring contractor.I got this Skil flooring saw at Lowe's for $[...]. Used it on (approx.)a dozen jobs (mostly 8 mil laminate). It is a solid tool that does what it's designed for.Usually when I install laminate in an occupied home I must leave my saws outside or in the garage. And the trips get annoying,as well as slow me down. This tool does the job of a table saw and miter. And is lightweight, portable and clean enough to be by my side all day.Even after I hook up my small ridgid vac and hose to it!It saves time and that makes money! The only drawback is that because of the small dia of the saw(4 1/2"),it eats blades!(1 per room,200 ft).If they redesigned this to a full size circular saw it would be the shizzle!.However, they probably won't.Because they want to make a fortune on these specialty blades!($10. ea.)Above all I would still recommend it to anyone who want to save time on wood and laminate installations.
