Product Description
Designed for drilling, sanding, shaping, detailing and other light-duty jobs, this compact, go-anywhere, use-anytime tool comes in extremely handy in and around the house. It features two speeds and can be used with any Dremel accessory bit with up to a 1/8" shank.
Amazon.com We started counting all the uses for this little dynamo, but we stopped at 967. We like it for delicate tasks and finer work because it isn't as powerful as its big brothers, so it's easier to control. It's light, extremely maneuverable, the switch is exactly where you want it and heck, it's just plain fun to use. It's perfect for jewelry, electronics, tiny woodworking crafts like dollhouse furniture and other intricate hobbies. It uses Dremel's wide array of bits, so there's virtually no limit to what you can do with this. Sure, there are store brands on the market for less, but Dremel is king when it comes to rotary tools, and we think they outdid themselves with this one.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

Great product July 3, 2008 D. Mcadams I purchased this product as a last hope for trimming my Doberman's nails. To my amazement, it was the perfect solution. He calmly sits there while we grind away the nails a little at a time. A very quiet and efficient tool. I'm sure I'll find many other uses for it.
Minimite is PERFECT for nails on mini dogs! July 2, 2008 KUJO (Oakland, CA) Great tool! I have three small dogs, two 6 pounders and one 14 pounder. All three quickly relaxed in my lap while I filed their nails away while sitting on the sofa watching TV, which took maybe 10 minutes each dog. Much better experience than the squirming and fussing that goes on when I used the nail clippers!!! Added benefit, one of my dogs has nails that curl under as they grow, looking like a backwards "C" (not normal striaght pointy dog nails). No matter how I clipped they always looked ugly and uncomfortable. The dremel allowed me to shape the nails (I started from underneath) so now they look normal and beautiful and I can see he is SO much more comfortable! Also, we have a new sofa so shaping with the dremel means no sharp edges to scratch it (or me!). I LOVE this tool. I ordered the 1/4" dremel mandrel and 120 (fine) grit bands for my dogs because of their size. I dremeled on low power. I let the battery recharge maybe 10 minutes in between dogs, just so it would be full strength (but I honestly didn't really notice a drain on power until maybe 30 minutes of steady use?). Doberdawn website has a great page thoroughly detailing how to dremel a dog's nails - I highly suggest you read it before you begin as it helps if you know what you're doing and she gives some great tips. http://homepages.udayton.edu/~merensjp/doberdawn/dremel/dremel.html
Dremel minimite July 1, 2008 Tjohn (Ludlow, VT) Bought it to trim my dogs nails. Works great although you need to practice and work slowly if you really love your dog. I highly recommend it. Suggestion: Run it a few times near the dog before using it so he can get used to the noise.
not good for dogs July 1, 2008 X. wang (Columbus, OH USA) Quite a few reviewers suggested this is a good one to polish dog nails instead of clipping them. But I found out otherwise. The thing generates a lot of heat when working, and the sound scares dogs away.
Great for pets! June 30, 2008 E. Fogg (Berea, KY) Excellent for trimming dog and parrot nails! Very useful. Buy this product and stop doing this task the hard way with clippers :)
