Product Description Hitachi 725297 Here is a great opportunity to save some money on 2 of Hitachi's most popular items. This combo kit includes theNR83A framing nailer along with the EC12 oil-bath stack tank compressor. Also included are the fittings, tape, oil and 50 feet of pneumatic hose. The pwerful and dependable NR83A shoots full round head framing strip nails from 2"-3 1/4". This light weight tool can fire up to 3 nails per second. The EC12 compressor is a 2 HP unit that delivers 4.1 cfm at 90 psi. This oil lube compressor draws only 14.5 amps and max RPM is 3,450.
Amazon.com One of Hitachi's most popular nailers, and for good reason. It's practically impossible to jam and fires a rapid three nails per second. At first gander, it appears heavy and unwieldy, but in hand, it's amazingly well-balanced and comfortable, and Hitachi's nailers are among the most reliable we've seen. It runs off air pressure of 70 to 120 psi, delivering plenty of "pow" even at the lower end. Hitachi recommends this model for floor and wall framing, truss build-up, window build-up, construction of subflooring and roof decking, wall sheathing, and mobile home and modular house construction. The accompanying EC12 compressor provides plenty of air pressure for any pneumatic nailer at 4 cubic feet per minute at 90 psi and a 14-second recovery time. The twin tanks are stacked, so it's compact and portable, perfect for the job site at 60 pounds.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

solid performance - great kit December 11, 2008 Bettergears (East Side, USA) I've used this combo on many jobs and never had a complaint. Hitachi makes the best framing gun I've ever used. The compressor works as it should: plug it in and dial in the pressure for your job. It would have been nice to have a depth gauge on the gun, but that would have made the deal more expensive and you can really do that with the pressure on the tank. I think this combo is a steal. The weakest part of the chain for me was the hose. I used it for a months before it got annoying and I upgraded it for $60. The hardware itself is top notch. I really like it.
Good but could be great August 29, 2007 D. Boyle I have used this set to build a 24 X 28 garage with attic trusses in an earthquake zone (lots of nails). It fired thousands of nails mostly 8s & 10s with no problems, both single and bump. My only grump is that the nailer is has no depth control. It would have been dramaticlly better if it had been the A2 gun. The compressor often has to be reset a time or two when first starting in the morning, especially if you had drained it like you are supposed to. Those small gripes out of the way, this combo kit has served me very well. If you don't mind changing pressure every time you change nails it will give you long and reliable service.
Everything was good except the hose February 9, 2006 olajoe (Aurora, CO) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
So you are thinking about this kit. It's awesome, buy it. I've worked in Hawaii, Colorado, and with framers from California. For every, paslode, senco, bostitch, portercable, harbor freight model on the job there are twice as many hitachis running at the same time. If you are looking for a deal, um.....I don't know maybe this is it. If you are looking for tools that will keep up all day long, this kit will and more except the hose- lose it quick. I'm buying the polyurethane 1/4" x 100' it's all over here in Aurora, CO and I've worked with it in the middle of winter- it's a must have. Good gun and compressor.
Great December 5, 2003 Erik Sieh (Fostoria, Michigan United States) 10 out of 13 found this review helpful
I have had this nailer and compressor for about a year and have gone through over 4 thousand nails. I have had no problems with the gun. The only problem encountered was with the compressor. It would not start up when connected to any extension cord. I would recommend this to anyone that wants a high quality nailer and compressor.
