Amazon.com Review Impressively compact, lightweight, and comfortable to use, Panasonic's 12-volt drill/driver fits into tight spaces where other bulkier drills won't. What about power? This Panasonic packs up to 293 inch-pounds of torque, while the motor's speed control allows full torque delivery at any speed, with dual speed ranges of 0 to 400 and 1 to 1,300 rpm. The 2 amp ni-cad batteries provide solid run time and charge in just 30 minutes. But the first thing you notice about this tool is how compact it is (the chassis measures only 8 inches) and how comfortable it feels in your hand. The soft-pad grip provides extra cushion and the balance is superb, two important features if you wield a cordless day in and day out. The tool lacks an onboard bit holder, but that's about all it lacks. This drill is a smart buy for plumbers, electricians, carpenters, and even woodworkers--in short, anyone who wants a small, compact drill that packs a lot of torque and is built to last. The package includes two 2 amp ni-cad batteries, a universal charger, and a hard-plastic carrying case. --Jon Groebner

GREAT DRILL October 7, 2008 SEWELL STAINED GLASS Great drill! Had Panasonics for well over 10 years. Hurricane Gustav "got" the one we had just like this. Ordered new one the next day.
Panasonic cordless 3/8 12v drill September 13, 2008 Tom H. (Terre Haute, In) The Panasonic 12 volt cordless drill. The reason I purchased this drill is that I have 4 more just like it and needed batteries to keep them going. When the batteries wear out, it costs about $65 bucks a battery for replacements (that price is a ripoff). It is less expensive to buy a new drill with 2 batteries than to buy just 2 batteries. Why can't Panasonic sell batteries for a reasonable price?
panasonic tools September 2, 2008 Fred M. Nance my second panasonic cordless drill. After buying several other brands, Makita, Porter Cable, Bosch. I found a drill that the battery did not fail within two years. The replacement cost of batteries for drills makes it impractical to not just replace the drill. Panasonic is one of the biggest name in batteries and in my opinion, the batteries are the first item to fail on the other drills I have owned.
Best for the money August 17, 2008 V S (Milwaukee WI) The only thing I dont like about mine is that the drill is VERY noisy, and feels like the gears have sand in them. It works great though (I'm an industrial electrical apprentice) and I just dont have any other complaints, other than desiring longer battery life. The chuck should have been made of a different composition, because it was oxidized when new in the box. I have this as part of the metal saw kit. VERY good for cutting 1/2" to 1" EMT. Hacksaws are for suckers.
BIG NAME KILLER!!!!!! May 12, 2008 Shawn Barker I've owned many cordless drills over the years...This is top dog quailty!!!You get what u pay for when it come's to cordless drills!100.00 dollars is the best deal on cordless drill you will find!Oh also for the people who said there's no bit holder...if thay would have read the owners manual they would have read too pull out the battery and the nicely hidden bit holder is right there where the manual say's it is!!!I find myself grabbing the panasonic 12 volt before all my other drill\driver's.
