Amazon.com Product Review What a pleasure it is to sand on this oscillator, especially if you're accustomed to chucking a drum sander into your drill press. It's powerful, quiet and has a generous worktable, along with throat plates to match each size drum. Everything stores neatly on board the sander and keeps it ready to use.The dust collection is probably our favorite feature; sanding like this makes a wicked mess, but just hook up your shop vacuum to the dust port, and nearly all the sawdust you make will get sucked away. Granted, it does make a strange sound as the spindle oscillates when you've got the vac running, but some ear protection isn't a bad idea anyway when your vac is on. The oscillation really does a great job of removing stock when you're using a coarse grit, and with finer grit, you get a nice smooth finish, especially on scroll-sawn work.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste What's in the Box Sander, throat plates, sanding drums, sanding sleeves

Wonderful tool for the money! July 7, 2008 Renaissance Man (Maryland) I purchased this in March 2007 and I have been very happy with its performance. It is relatively quiet, sands efficiently, and has a good dust collection system. Recommend highly!
Cheap and good. April 23, 2008 F. RODRIGUEZ (Cincinnati area) For light use, it is a great deal. It does the job and has all the basic elements of a good spindle sander. You can install an external rheostat to regulate speed. I recommended it to several friends who bought it, and they all liked it.

This itme is one of those tools I don't use often, but when I need it there is nothing like a good spindle sander to get around those curves. When I recieved it I was impressed with the way it was built, the nice storage for the extra spindles and the way it worked. I had no need for it really at the moment and after a couple test runs it sat in the corner. Last month I did need it and the nasty grinding sound coming from it did not bode well. The spindle would spin around but there was no oscillation at all. I cleaned everything up as best I could and it gave me a few half hearted movements and more grinding sounds. It is now sitting in the garage and I reclaimed my old spindle sander from my uncle. I was pleased to find out the sleaves fit my old one. I will use them.
Best bang for your buck July 30, 2007 Rich heggs (NJ) Great machine for the money, uses Ryobi sanding cylinders. A must for any level woodworker!!
