Makita Heat Gun 1100 December 8, 2008 TNT Chick (Snowy Wis) This heat gun is awesome... this is all we use. We are window tinters and use them daily. We have tested many and these are the only ones that hold up.
Makita HG1100 Heat Gun March 25, 2008 Robert Smith (Los Angeles, CA) We have tried just about every heat gun on the market and I can honestly say that this is the "go-to gun". It is dependable, long lasting, and can withstand plenty of abuse.
plastic February 21, 2008 ec (NV) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I liked the heat gun but after a year or two of use the plastic around the nozzle melted. I use it for coffee roasting which had the gun blowing into a stainless steel bowl so perhaps the air flow was not typical. If you are going to use the gun in a container that will 'reflect' the air flow, perhaps you would be better served with a gun with less plastic.
love it! September 21, 2007 S. Park (Mission Viejo, CA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Hand down best heat gun on the market. Can't beat the price and durability. This is my second one, had the first for over 8 years, used it just about everyday on the job. Only getting a new one because my co-worker had to move, and TOOK the gun!! I can't blame him though.. if you dont have one, get one.
Fooey on Makita customer service November 8, 2006 Nathaniel Firethorn (Exit 8A, New Jersey) 1 out of 10 found this review helpful
I was about to buy this gun and wanted some nozzles. Makita nozzles seem to be pretty hard to find. So I called up the customer service and asked if Milwaukee nozzles would fit. Got told "We can't answer any questions about Milwaukee." So I went with Milwaukee's variable-temp heat gun kit instead. Even though it costs more, the parts are readily available, and it looks like Makita is phasing out heat guns (or at least not very interested in supporting them.)
