5 out of 5 stars Great for small jobs   October 1, 2008

This tool is great for building houses, or small jobs, really manageable, and portable. Just a little thing, you won't use it without electricity.

4 out of 5 stars excellent concrete vibrator   April 24, 2008

this is an excellent, cheap tool.

i used it to vibrate a 3 story building foundation. it worked really well.
and the best part , the machine needs only one person to operate.

the only drawback, is that the extension is a bit short. could have been a little longer. but still excellent.

I purchased the product for manufacturing concrete counter tops and to date I have been very happy with its performance. Based on my research it was $200 cheaper than a comparable unit that was battery operated. I have no issues with "plug-in" devices especially if they can save you that much money. Counter tops are not very deep but I think the device would work nicely for formed work no more than around 4 feet deep. Anything deeper than 4 or 5 feet and you would need a longer neck. The unit is manufactured in China, seems to be engineered very well and it is of good quality. I would purchase this product again.

I build houses out of autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC). See www.safecrete.com for more. They have vertical cores, bond beams, and occasionally floor panels which all require relatively small amounts of concrete.
I only have to do the concrete work about one or two times per job. So a concrete vibrator is not a tool I need often. Most are very big and very expensive. This one is just right for occasional use. It is small enough to carry up scaffolding. It is about like a sawzall with a heavy hose on the end of it. It is cheap enough to pay for itself in two uses as opposed to what it would cost to rent one. The small diameter rod is ideal for vertical cores.
