I used this tool for the first time yesterday to modify a distortion pedal. I really was not sure how effectively it would do what it was designed to do but I took a chance. I have plenty of solder wick and know how to use it. However I do not use it regularly and am slow when I do use it.
I must say that this tool exceeded my expectations beyond belief. I was removing components in less then 5 seconds. Just place the tip over the soldered component leg, give it a little twist and hit the button. The solder was gone. Of the 20 or so components I removed, I only had to hit one leg twice and that was my fault since I did not have the tip flush against the PCB board.
I have a compressor that I have been meaning to mod for about 3 years. I will have that done once the new compenents arrive.
This tool was well worth the money.
