Amazon.com Product Description Wood fibers and dust particles suspended in the air in your shop or home are a major safety concern that needs to be addressed. Delta's 50-875 Air Purifier will filter dust and particulate matter down to one micron in size (i.e. tiny). The Delta 50-875 not only filters all the air in a 20- by 20-foot room but it does it at a rate of 13 to 18 times an hour. The unit has a three-speed air cleaner to handle the most serious dust or particulate problems and the remote control allows the user to change speeds or set the built-in timer from any point in the shop. The filter's system consists of a 3-pocket inner filter, a pleated outer filter and an electrostatic pre-filter. The unit's overall dimensions (24 by 30 by 12 inches) and weight (50 pounds) mean the Delta 50-785 Air Purifier can be placed almost anywhere in the home or shop and can even be hung from the ceiling using the four eye bolts and flange nuts included with each unit. -- C. Shop air cleaner February 9, 2008 Tinkerer (Chicago, IL USA) The air cleaner works well. I especially like the timer, it can be set to run for 1/2 hour or longer and then shut off automatically. I set the timer to better clean the air after doing some work and do not have to return to shut the cleaner down. The gage on the side of the unit is supposed to show when the filters are getting clogged. I do not think it is very accurate because new out of the box the gage shows that the cleaner almost needs a filter change. I almost did not buy the unit because of comments about damage occuring in shipping. Thankfully my cleaner was not damaged at all.

This filter was installed in a basement workshop and suspended from the flooring beams above by chains. There is no noticeable vibration and the noise, even at high speed, does not bother the wife in the upstairs area. I was able to get it in place by myself, but this is best accomplished by two people. It moves a lot of air, and so far, after only a month of service, I'm pleased with the unit.
Good filtration July 20, 2007 G. Poshkus (Upstate NY) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
For the price, this unit is a good buy. I do a lot of fine sanding of exotic woods on my lathe (220 to 400 grit) and this filter has eliminated a lot of the sawdust "drift" from my workshop. It has good airflow although there seems to be some leakage around the primary filter when it's loaded. I put a telltale on the exhaust and it doen't seem to indicate a drop in airflow when the filter is obviously clogged. You can clean the filter easily with a shop vac, just don't forget to do it frequently.
Very good unit, arrived perfectly April 14, 2007 /BT\ (Orlando, FL United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This unit works as advertised and arrived on time in perfect condition. Lost 1 star because it gets noisy and a vibrates at max speed. Overall highly recommended. Would suggest 2 people to ceiling mount this though it is possible for one person with some creativity (think ropes and pulleys).
Good Old Delta March 27, 2007 K. Zigler (Los Angeles Area) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Even though Delta is no longer made in the USA, at least not the consumer line, I have to say that I'm very satisfied with this unit. It arrived today in nearly perfect condition. The only flaw was a super small bent lip on one bottom corner that was easily straightened in 10 seconds. I have not hung it yet but have tested it for operation and it runs great and moves plenty of air. The noise level is acceptable and the fit and finish is better than I expected. The manual recommends against cleaning the inner filter but since it looks sturdy enough, I plan on trying to clean it at least once before replacement since the cost is pretty steep. The air flow indicator should be helpful in determining if it will be successful. Overall I recommend the 50-875 besides, it looks right at home next to my 20 year old Unisaw.
